Top 10 Classic Rock Songs For Winter

Winter is here, that means lots of cold days, and long nights. Lots of snow, and ice, and shoveling. So I thought I would heat things up and give you the Top 10 Classic Rock Winter Songs.

10. Cinderella – Long Cold Winter

This 1988 classic took a turn from their signature big-hair glam style, and just gave us a great blues track.

9. Black Sabath – Snow Blind

Technically this song is about a different kind of “snow”, but the lyrics are great, and the guitars will get you through the cold days ahead.

8. David Lee Roth – 40 Below

With lyrics like “Call me 40 Below, ooh yeah. ‘Cause I’m cold” and upbeat music, this one will keep you rockin’ when the temperature outside is actually 40 below.

7. Rainbow – Snowman

This song always brings back memories of when I was a little girl watching The Snowman on one of our 2 channels. Although it wasn’t this version, hearing this song makes me want to go sledding and come in for a cup of hot cocoa.

6. Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble – Couldn’t Stand The Weather

Ok, so this song actually has nothing to do with winter, but the title fits, so I’m adding it to this list.

5. Rolling Stones – Winter

Any song that starts out with the lyric “It sure been a hard, hard winter/ My feet been draggin’ ‘cross the ground” is something I can totally relate to.

4. Queen – A Winter’s Tale

No Top 10 list is complete without at least one Queen song.

3. Metallica – Trapped Under Ice

Please be careful out there!

2. The Doors – Wintertime Love

Are there more perfect lyrics to describe the need for someone to snuggle with during the cold part of the year?   “ Wintertime winds blow cold the season / Fallen in love, I’m hopin’ to be”

1. Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers – Out In The Cold

Bundle up! You don’t want to be out in the cold!
